Becoming a member of ACFA: The Advice Network will allow you access to a wide range of benefits: reduced cost training, a searchable directory of services and networking opportunities to name just a few.
The ever growing demand for advice services means it is increasingly important for organisations to work together as effectively as possible to ensure clients get the help they need, when they need it and where they need it.
Although only agencies that deliver free social welfare legal advice can be full members, ACFA is for all organisations providing advice, information and/or support to their particular client group - for example organisations that provide practical support to clients with a specific medical condition or disability.
It is vitally important that advice organisations know about support groups so that clients can be referred or signposted for further assistance. Equally, these support organisations need to be able to refer or signpost clients to advice organisations where appropriate, to supplement the practical support they provide.
There are two categories of membership that your organisation may fall into. They are:
- Full Membership – this is for voluntary and community sector organisations that deliver benefit advice services.
- Affiliate Membership - this is for other voluntary and community sector organisations and groups that provide support, information, or advice or wish to keep
