We are looking to recruit a benefits caseworker tojoin our team of 11advisers.The role involves providing information, advice and advocacy on welfare benefits, charitable applications (for things like household items) and other sources of financial support to people living mainly in low-income households in Bristol and the surrounding area.
We work with people predominantly on a 1-2-1 basis,both face-to-face and over the phone (much more of the latter in the current circumstances). We also run group sessions and workshops, sometimes targeted at people with common experiences (such as single parents or people who are currently in prison). We encourage collaborative working across roles,both within and outside of the organisation to jointly problem solve and expediate better outcomes for clients.
