Join ACFA

There are two types of membership: full and affiliate. Costs for either membership plan are £100 per year, or £50 per year for organisational income under £250K

Full membership

For non-statutory, not for profit organisations who provide free social welfare advice and information – for example, advice centres, law centres and Citizens Advice services. Full members receive all member benefits and have the right to vote on ACFA business or policy, such as at ACFA meetings and at our AGM.

Criteria

  • You are a non-statutory, not for profit organisation.
  • Your organisation must provide free social welfare advice and information as its main activity or as part of the services it provides
  • Your organisation has an Equal Opportunities / Diversity policy, which reflects current Equalities legislation, or is working towards developing one. (ACFA can help members with development and maintaining policies).
  • You agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the ACFA’s constitution

Affiliate Membership

For statutory services, private companies, educational establishments, housing associations who provide free social welfare advice and information. For example, local authority services, private practice, university student advice and housing association advice services. Affiliate members receive all member benefits but do not have the right to vote on ACFA business or policy, such as at ACFA meetings and at our AGM.

Criteria

  • You are a statutory, private, or educational organisation, a housing association or similar.
  • Your organisation must provide free social welfare advice and information as its main activity or as part of the services it provides
